"Should I buy sealed or singles?" is the most common question we get. The honest answer: a portfolio that lasts holds both, for different reasons.
Sealed: the patient allocation
Sealed product is a bet on time and scarcity. It rewards storage discipline and punishes impatience. Treat it as your long-horizon position.
Singles: the liquid allocation
Singles are liquid and expressive — you can target exactly the cards you believe in. They're also more volatile, so size positions accordingly.
A simple framework
- Core (long hold): sealed product from sets with confirmed low ratios.
- Satellite (active): graded or chase singles you can exit quickly.
- Cash: keep some dry powder for the next drop.
Diversification beats conviction. No single card or set should be able to sink your whole position.
